New Penstemon out of North America, a tough, garden hardy Penstemon? Absolutely! The new Dakota series of Penstemon are hardy to -40C in non-waterlogged soils. A compact variety, it makes a bushy plant producing glossy green leaves to a height of 30cm with a spread of 45cm. The flower stems will reach a height of 60cm with masses of lavender to violet tubular flowers that bees love. We also stock Penstemon ‘Dakota Burgundy’ in this series.
